Getting Into the Swing of Things

This week has felt much fuller than I expected.

Going into this season, I imagined life would be slower for a while. Instead, the days have stayed pretty active between motherhood, home life, visiting with family and friends, and adjusting to new routines.

Surprisingly, I’ve enjoyed the movement of it all. Staying active throughout the day has been good for me mentally, and I’m feeling more and more ready to return to my wellness routine again. I’ve been looking forward to getting back into the gym, rebuilding healthy habits, and finding my rhythm again while navigating life as a mom of two.

Lately, I’ve also appreciated community in a deeper way. We’ve spent time visiting with friends, staying connected with family, attending birthday parties, and simply being around people more. Watching my child grow has made me realize how much of a role parents play in helping build community for their children early on. Friendships, familiarity, and connection all begin somewhere, and I’ve grown to appreciate how important that foundation really is.

How are you all staying connected with friends and family when life gets busy? And for the parents, how are you helping your children build community and friendships while they’re still young? I’d genuinely love to hear how other families approach that.

Home life has been shifting a little too. I haven’t cooked much lately, but I’m ready to settle back into the kitchen and approach it differently this time around. I want things to feel more organized and manageable throughout the week, especially with busier days ahead.

With summer getting closer, I’ve already been craving lighter foods again—fresh juices, fruit, vegetables, salads, and simple meals that feel refreshing during warmer months. Those kinds of foods have always fit naturally into my routine, especially when life gets busy.

I’ve also been thinking more about how people are managing meals during the week, especially moms balancing full schedules. Are you meal prepping once a week? Cooking daily? Keeping things super simple? I’m trying to find a system that keeps us fed well without feeling like I’m spending the entire day in the kitchen making multiple meals.

Overall, this week felt active, full, and grounding in its own way. I’m still adjusting to this new season of life, but I’m enjoying finding my footing in it little by little.
